The Assassin razor just was delivered earlier today. Shipping update still had it as being held in customs but, it showed up earlier today. I’m not complaining. Straightforward packaging that is somewhat eco-friendly yet the items are nicely protected. Had a very tight and strong plastic film on the components to help protect the high polish finish on the kit which was appreciated but, man was it a bitch to get off. Trade-off I guess which I can live with. The look & finish is world class with a superb high polish finish on all the components including the underside of the top cap. The handle has a very nice design however, the lack of knurling or deep serrations on the handle makes it a very smooth and looks like grip will be lacking. Not that I can’t shave with it as I have a couple smooth handled razors. Nothing that a bit of alum can’t help with. Nonetheless, an extra step in the shave regime may be needed. Weight is very biased towards the head though, it does feel nice in hand and is substantial. Components fit together nicely and the handle spacer is a nice touch. Haven’t installed a blade in it yet to check preciseness of blade alignment. Already shaved today but, the 2.0 is on the menu for tomorrow’s shave exercise.

A very nice shave with the Urkunet Assassin and the 2.0 base plate. Really good combination of smoothness & efficiency with a light touch of blade feel. Just two tiny weepers at the corners of the stache but, irritation & cut free every where else. A solid first outing with the Assassin.

An absolutely stunning shave with the Assassin this morning. Installed the 2.5 gap plate to tackle 3 full days worth of growth to give this massive gap some testing ground as I was sure it was not going to have much problem slicing through the whiskers. Not only did it slice through the whiskers with abandon, it did so with an unexpected comfort & smoothness that had me a bit perplexed with this ginormous gap. A complete and utter annihilation in two superb passes, drop the mic, walk off the stage with a hand pointed to The Almighty above. Two tiny weepers, one on the chin and the other near Sir Adam. Besides those two minor blips, the rest of the shave was flawless. No cuts nor irritation to speak of. Just a complete BBS finish that left my skin buttery smooth and almost rubbery like. The 2.5 gap is the real deal on the Urkunet Assassin yet, it’s not as menacing in feel though, it looks like it could be used to skin your favorite cucumbers or potato's with relative ease. This is the hammer of Ranulf The Strong of Warhammer 40K Lore for those that are familiar with this RPG/FPS hybrid game. Buffing or clean up strokes are not required with this composed beast. Don’t get me wrong though, one bad move and the red life elixir will run equal to the running of the bulls in Pamplona. However, a good experienced hand with respect for this gap can achieve a magnificent shave that rivals anything in the hyper efficient category. What is simply astounding is that there is no harshness nor over abundance of blade feel. It’s there but, it’s metered & controlled quite nicely owning to the excellent combination of blade bend relative to both the top cap & safety bar geometries. No skipping on the skin nor any blade chatter to speak of as the blade support & rigidity is vise-like. Backed by the weight of the overall razor, cutting through whiskers is mere child’s play for this battle axe of a razor.

Simply an astounding shave and I humbly kneel to the creators at Urkunet in producing a high gap razor that is both composed & defiantly ferocious in its purpose in removing whiskers by simply holding it in one’s hands. Yay, I faintly hear the whiskers moan & cry in realization that a Titan has come to the proving grounds of shaving immortality. Whisker will never be the same again…..

A fabulous shave with the Assassin & the 2.5 plate. Again, for a high gap razor there really is nothing to fear in terms of being aggressive or harsh feeling. There is a minimal amount of feel and blade exposure is very low but, the gap is still real and a careless move will bring about the red elixir just like with nearly every safety razor made however, the Assassin 2.5 with that low reveal is actually quite docile and very manageable during every phase of the shave. Just 2.5 passes with zero touch up work for a marvelous BBS finish on both face & neck. An excellent end after a long day at work.
