Who are these people who think it's acceptable to throw litter out of car windows, and why is it so often McDonald's packaging? Just put the litter in the passenger footwell until you get where you're going and then bin it you ignoramus.

I live three blocks from the local community college. Staff and faculty are given first priority in the parking lots, students must fend for themselves. We’ve noticed a fascinating phenomenon. Pre-pandemic the surrounding neighborhood, was awash with the students’ cars every Monday through Friday. When they’d leave at the end of their day, it was positively mind blowing how much trash was found all over the streets and sidewalks in the neighborhood. It was a disgrace. We complained to the college and the City and a series of trash cans was placed around the perimeter of the college. Do you think the morons carried their McDonalds, Wendy’s, Dunkin’ Donuts garbage to the cans?! Uhhh, no… they continued to just open their car doors and leave it in the street in front of peoples’ homes. We’re always amazed at how disgusting some people are. Where were they raised, and who’s raising them?! Do they do that in front of their own homes?

When the pandemic hit and classes went remote, garbage in the street came to a poop screeching halt. Now that in person classes have resumed we’ve found that there seems to be lower enrollment, or perhaps some classes are still remote, but M-F neighborhood parking has resumed on a smaller scale, and trash in the street has returned, but to a lesser degree than previously.

Total lack of civility and civic pride.

My rant today is related to my long absence from this and all shaving forums. At least the ones I haven't been banned from already. I'm slowly coming out of my long stupor after job loss, divorce and a resetting of all my social interactions. I've taken the time to distance myself from people who I have come to learn were never really my friends. And there are a lot of them. While my social life has become quieter, I don't believe that is a bad thing. I've come to learn things about people I thought were my friends over these last 7 or 8 years. I no longer speak with those people. I've revived old friendships with friends from grammar school. Made new friends via my foray into music (I'm a drummer, or at least try). I've definitely switched some levels of stress with new different levels of stress. But overall, I feel better about who I am and who I associate with. Ok. Rant over.
