New Forest brush appreciation thread

The New Forest brushes made by @Fido (now retired from the brush making business) are probably the best over-all brushes I've ever used.

Excellent knots and superbly crafted handles makes these brushes appear on my bathroom counter at least once a week.

I took an updated group photo of the NF collection I have (25 brushes apparently) and all but four are unique/different in some way to the others.

Anywho, if you have some NF brushes and like them - please do post :)

That is a most magnificent display DB, I'm not normally prone to jealousy but I am now suffering extreme brush envy :)

I'm happy to see this thread ... I thought everyone had forgotten them by now!

I still use mine quite often .. especially the original #2201 Superior Badger .. as good a two band knot as can be had, IMO. A brush that just does everything well .. I'm sorry that Peter gave up on the project, as he was really making quite a statement..

Here's mine , left to right.

2221, High Mountain White, 2211 Finest Silvertip, The original 2201, and the 24mm Two band, hand turned in The New Forest ..

Lovely set of brushes, I only own one and that was a recent acquisition, easily my favourite, wish Fido would come out of retirement.

I too wish that Peter would start producing brushes again.

When he started the venture, he was given a bad time on some of the forums .. I think he showed a lot of people that a high quality brush could be produced for a very reasonable price .. And they didn't like it! He learned the ropes of the business, and he could still be a great asset to the community .. if he chose to do so.
