MWF Seller Shenanigans

So, I found a listing for 6 pucks of Mitchell's Wool Fat, original formulation with tallow. Only the seller had it described as the "Original Lanolin Formula". I asked if he meant tallow and he said sorry, yes this is the original formula with tallow. He was asking $250 plus shipping for the 6 pucks as a lot. I made an offer of $180, and assumed he would not accept my offer. I was prepared to increase my offer but with proper negotiation. I get nothing so I ask if he plans to counter. He asks me what I mean. Huh? I said, are you going to make me a counter offer? He says if I'm interested I need to make an offer because he doesn't want to negotiate against himself. I then explain that he isn't negotiating against himself because I DID make an offer. He says, oh, sorry. The next thing I know he RAISES his asking price to $275. That's the fastest way to lose me completely as a buyer. I won't play those games for material goods and won't do business with people like that no matter how rare they may be. I then asked him why he RAISED his price. He said he's protecting himself because his price per puck is the cheapest out there. Whatever. I said "Good luck with your sale" and immediately removed his soap from my watch list. So many jerks out there. Should I tell him "The Jerk Store called, and their running out of you!"?

Anyone who is a glutton for punishment and wants to deal with this seller, here's his listing. Used to be $250, now $275. Make and offer and see how fast the price goes up to $300. I should have known he would be a dick by his name: fudgebertopattywack.

A week ago I see a Tabac Stick for 40 €
In Spain there is a saying that says "against the vice of asking is the virtue of not giving"
I don't care how much of an asking price someone puts on their merchandise. But when a person puts out an asking price, receives an offer, that offer is somewhat based upon the asking price. For someone to receive an offer and then raise the asking price immediately after receiving that offer means they are playing games. It goes against everything I have come to understand about a fair negotiation process. In fact, it suggests that not only is the negotiation process with that seller flawed, I can then expect the ENTIRE purchase process to be suspect. I simply will not do business with someone who lacks basic business acumen and appropriateness.
