You are right, I should have flagged up those points and they were points I followed when I had petrol power mowers up until 3 years ago, now gone electric. My mower was always a swine to start after it had been on its side, I am guessing that the float stayed open and soaked the plug.

Neighbour was telling me that he had taken his Atco mower, a giant of a thing by English standards, to have an end of season service, blade sharpening, new plug, change of oil etc. He went to pick it up and was told that someone else had collected it and loaded it into a Ford Transit, they even paid the small balance in cash. He was made to feel like a crook, the garden centre suggesting that he was part of the scam

Looks similar to those used on a golf course or playing fields. Note the rollers.

if this is a real pic... it's a interesting thing... we recently tried a human pushing 1 on their lawn... butt it failed with the not grass stuff... even after adjusting it...
ATCO is a very traditional cylinder mower, very popular with groundsmen who are working on grass tennis courts and cricket pitches, places where the finish must be perfect.

This neighbour also has a Flymo, basically it hovers above the ground and might be better at longer grass, I don't know if you have the brand Flymo, looks likes this:

Non powered, that is not driven, mowers are very common for us, probably due to the smaller gardens and the weekly regime of cutting the grass.

The owner is a bit of a fuss-pot, if its not the best he is not interested.

thanks for the info....

when we were kids & the area we used to live... small lawns were & still are the norm... & we used for a little while at our nana's the power-cord electric mower they/she had... 25' × 12'... pop-pop had more lawn & a old reel mower was used as a back-up... us kids just decided to use his reel mower at nana's cause it was only a few minute mowing... if it matters we only had 1 grandparent in each side of the family...
