Merkur 37c Slant

First try today with this razor.

The blade was Feather which I hate, the soap was PAA Cavendish.

First pass WTG just excellent. The lather was really dense, could not feel the blade at all. Some stubble remained though.

Second pass XTG, very comfortable, maybe the most comfortable pass ever for me. Some spots left on the moustache area. Nothing serious.

The slant was excellent on the ATG pass, although it requires attention and technique. I lost the angle or put pressure and paid for it with redness in some neck areas and 3 nicks, nothing serious. I overdid it with touch ups and buffing and nothing serious happened.

Some stinging around the mouth and one or two rough spots on the neck left me with DFS and not fully BBS. But it was a good shave. It was my first time with this one and because I was really exhausted today, my hand was shaking and couldn't stop it.

All in all a very good razor and I enjoyed it. Speick balm corrected the mistakes and left the skin smooth. I will try it with different blades and I'm sure it will be better for me. Feather are sharp but not exactly efficient for me & harsh, I don't know why.

I remember the first time I tried the Merkur 37c and when finished thought it was a very nice efficient razor. Not the difficult to use aggressive razor some had painted it to be on different forums. Sounds like you had a very good first experience also.
