PTSD is also related to sexual abuse, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and disability abuse.

Well I disagree, if your have been in profession I listed, you see and experience thing in those jobs, most people do not, or will not experience.

Many of the Soldiers in recent years, spent some much time deployed, it was awful. Have a good friend he some just retired from USN. He did 20+ year with SEALS, trust me he saw thing most people will never see.

Problem even with normal Soldiers is all the Deployments one might have in a 4 year tour of duty in the combat arms profession.

Trust me, I understand what you mean, my father served in Vietnam.

I've been treated by a psychiatrist for 18 years on and off since I was 10 years old, as part of the veterans affairs family counselling services.
Which has change over to Open Arms since 2013, formerly knowns as veterans affairs family counselling services.

I suffered PTSD from.

1. From my father, who served in Vietnam, too much verbal abuse and physical abuse. Because my father could handle a profoundly deaf and cerebral palsy child (me).
2. Too much physical abuse and disability abuse, since I was in the spastic society since I was 3 years old with cerebral palsy, and didn't leave the spastic centre since I was 9 years old until I learn to walk on my own two feet.
3. I was sexual abuse in the spastic centre since as a child back in the 78 to 85, before I went to normal public school to get away from the spastic centre.
4. I was verbal abuse and disability abuse throughout my school years, public and high school.
5. I was verbal abuse, disability abuse, and grossly under paid in the workforce during my engineering pre apprenticeship as a structural design draftsman.

Doesn't matter the job, all could be affected by PTSD

I was on a business trip in El Salvador and saw a guy get cut down by automatic weapon fire, then finished off with a shotgun shot to the face

And I was in commercial sales of consulting services

Yep, been there, done that and wore that t-shirt. Some things you can never un-see.

I think PTSD can affect anyone who has witnessed a gruesome event first hand. My nephew who served as a medic in the Canadian army doing 2 overseas deployments has PTSD from that experience.

I'm very sorry to hear all that and I'm also sorry for making jokes on you sometimes.

Didn't see that coming.

In the past, I had verbal abuse mostly from my father.
