I think for me the only real issue with waiting for the money to arrive in the bank now is not being able to post the items out until I get that money. In the past because it was straight to PayPal I could get the postage paid for within a day or two.

That's a fair point, I generally just go ahead and post it anyway. I figure eBay are probably good for it and won't stiff me... But I would think twice on high value items over a couple of hundred, in that case I would probably increase my dispatch time from 24 hours to 72 just to cover it.

When I contacted Italian Barber (Canada) recently they said they had no plans to start supplying the UK because they were not prepared to set up the administrative collection system required by the changes imposed since January this year. Now that the EU regulations kick in from July, it will be interesting to see whether suppliers just bite the bullet rather than lose a huge European/UK market.

I'm curious to see how this plays out, but the pessimist in me thinks that, for razors, they have European distributors and limited stock anyway. It may be easier just to leave it to the European partners.

Instead, we have chosen to continue marking parcels with 15.95 USD value. this means VAT will only be paid on that $15.95. It is true there will be a processing fee added to your bill by your local agency; but if you are placing orders over $75 or so, you may actually end up spending less for (VAT on 15.95)+(processing fee) than you would if you were paying VAT (20-22%) on actual order value through IOSS

To be honest, I have my reservations about this. Previously a low value item passed by customs more or less unnoticed. Now each and every item goes through customs and undergoes the scrutiny of the customs officials. I think any idiot can work out that 10 shaving soaps and a razor are worth more than $16. Also, when the postage costs more than the items in the parcel, the alarm bells will be ringing.

I have benefited from this , Monday gone I had a $300 ish razor delivered , I was extremely grateful to Maggards , I really don’t know how much longer it can continue though .

No. The buyer carries all the risk. In Germany it is not uncommon for customs to hold the package and request proof of payment on collection.
