Beautiful, Joseph.
I know his website removes VAT for UK customers. Did you get clobbered at this end? From the speed it arrived, I'm thinking no.
Thank you for the kindness David. It’s always appreciated my beloved friend. And fortunately this time around I dodged the bullet. I’ve tried to twist janiks arms many a time with declaring the value to a minimum….. but he insists on keeping the true value of the item. But I avoided the hangmans noose on this one LOL. which makes it an even sweeter purchase I do have to admit. Sincerest respects as always. J. 💚💚🥃🥃

David, Jannik‘s site generally lists the price without VAT, assumedly because this looks better and is more transparent for his predominantly US customer base. Delivery to an EU address immediately incurs an additional 20% VAT. So basically, if you in the UK still have a faint chance of getting away with no customs charges, you are still better off than anyone in the EU.

Thanks, Alex. The website doesn't add the VAT for UK customers. Our customs are assuming purchases up to £135 have had the VAT collected by the vendor. Over £135, as with the Wald, it's luck if you get away without paying the fee.

The EU system seems okay, & I would consider joining if there was one EU tax rate. The EU wants UK sellers to do free admin for them & send them money. Some EU countries are charging 15-20 EUR for clearance per parcel on imports, which is a lot. Royal Mail charge £8-£13, which is a lot for a small order.
