Simpsons Chubb 2 (Synthetic) - King Charles Coronation Special

Arrived today after approx 2 weeks from ordering. A fantastic looking brush, the Pictures of it on the a Simpsons website do not do it justice. The engraving on the bottom of the brush is faultless. The knot has been very well shaped, which on occasion can be a let down with the Simpson synthetics. Much depends on who putting the knots in and trimming . Is it worth the money ? yes, most definitely. Not a great lover of Manchurians so the badger hair version was not for me, and the price was rather high.

My only comment / thought I suppose was that Mark could have chosen a different handle, say a discontinued shape such as the “ Phyl” to give these brushes a little more presence rather than the easy option, oh well use a Chubby 2.

All in all, delighted with the purchase

Great selection of soaps that you have purchased there. The 2 GD soaps at the bottom of the first column are amongst my favourites, especially the TRC / GD collaboration - I have a couple of tubs of this, as well as the one that I have open and if you can get the splash as well, both you and your skin would be in for a treat, all IMHO.

This lot has arrived couple days ago - bought the APR stuff, rest is freebies (also not pictures floid black - Spanish version) . Soap is at the bottom but it’ll be used with synth exclusively…. So should last for handful of shaves!

I'd be very interested to know what you think of it.

I tried the standard plate in the pass around and found it too mild but liked the razor.

I might get one in future but unsure whether to go for the SB+ or ++.

Yes I was tempted to take the ++ plate instead, but I‘ve used a few AC razors that were so uncomfortably aggressive that I just didn‘t want to risk it. Augustin told me the + would give a similar result to a le Maurice 1.4 gap….which would suit me just fine.

I may just use the new razor tomorrow

It’s a stunning razor, price might keep me out but it’s one I keep coming back to.
