Keeping the razor and got a partial refund since I really like the handle. The baseplate seems good to go so I'll try to source a new cap for it so she can continue to do her job.

Yea it fits great, but for long term I was hoping to keep it brass and not throw Zamak into the mix. I found some thick top plates on Ebay so may grab one of those.
