Again, I return to what is moral. China may have adapted well, but most of us believe that success, to be valid, means playing according to a set of standards. A democracy is at a disadvantage because of the very nature of individual freedom to think and act in their own best interest, rather than a state or authoritarian. There is a moral way forward, or there was one. Doing the right things the wrong way seems to provide an endless supply of examples. I cannot think of one proverb that suggests treating others poorly is moral. We know we should whether we do it or not and we appreciate it when we are treated well when we know we don't deserve it.

Look up the meaning of free trade and you will find no mention of what you rightfully object to in that definition. The practices that you object to have been around long before free trade.

Agreed. I actually can appreciate to what @TexStubble is saying, but there are better ways compete. No one forced a tariff. It was self-inflicted with no strategy in mine. Nothing is happening in the US to cause investment and certainly not when the market is being manipulated daily.

I did not say they did as you are right in that they are abhorrent. I did say they are not mentioned in any definition of free trade I have read, and they have no direct connection to the idea of free trade.

Will of Barrister & Mann wrote in an email today that he'll try to absorb additional costs without increasing prices for now but he fears it will decimate wet shaving artisan businesses if it continues for a longer term. Since a lot of them are US based, this would have an impact on the worldwide community.
