I dislike Aliexpress anyway, their habit of displaying a price and then hiking it when you log in because that price was only for new buyers, and then adding VAT which wasn’t displayed either is disingenuous.Yes I know. I never used Aliexpress, I didn't know about this sneaky evil rotten trick.
For them to raise their prices makes no sense as the US tariffs are import tariffs paid by the importer not the seller. That means their products would be even more expensive to the consumer and a sure way to drive customers/importers away.

If tariffs have any value, they provide a country an opportunity to build the infrastructure and work force to compete. The problem to take into account is one country will not be able to have economies of scale in all markets. China has become an economy of scale in manufacturing a wide range of products and appear to be able to ramp up quickly in part to the government's involvement and assistance.
US made iPhone, say iPhone 17 would cost nearly $2000.00 AUD per phone.
More than $3500 here and would cost Apple 30 billion to relocate its operations into one country. Then those nations with economies of scale would produce a competitor for $500.
No, all too familiar with what has been going on in the past 50 years. China saw an opportunity in the globalization of free trade made possible by companies in the industrialised west off shoring to increase profits. It was a smart move and has now changed their position from a regional power to a global one with a military to match.
