I'm done buying DE razors

Buy a Flare Tip Super Speed, a hundred German Wilkinson Sword blades, a puck of Arko, an Omega boar brush and never join a forum or watch a shaving video.
Or a Super Slim... Good advice, and i really mean this, but... There's always a "but" butting in
So... What about the ones who's faces "don't agree" with twist-to-open razors...? I.E. my face hates them, i simply couldn't get a satisfying shave even with a Slim Adjustable, and it was not a technique or prep problem.

I don't want to derail the thread, but out of curiosity - what was it your face didn't like about TTOs in particular?

He realizes that the latest super duper razor is just another razor. There's only so many times they can sell you a better mouse trap.
So the old joke goes like this:

An inventor goes to the Patent office with a mousetrap that's just a razor blade on its side set in a block of wood, with a lump of cheese on the other side of the blade. He announces the mouse will lean over the razor blade to get the cheese and decapitate itself in the process

The Patent Officer rejects it as there is no guarantee the mouse will get killed cleanly, tells him it needs some sort of mechanical motion to the blade to ensure a swift death.

He goes back a week later with same trap, but no cheese.

"How is this an improvement ?" the Patent Officer says

"Well", says the Inventor "Its the same principle but the mouse looks over the blade and swings his head from side to side thinking "Where's the F***ing Cheese then ???" and slices his head off

Gillette was trying to make shaving easier and safer. The solid comb to accomdate shaving mediums sans brushes. That’s the history of shaving a man’s face.

Women have more to shave and less to say.

Your face won't know it's a TTO unless it reads shave forums!

I used to think my face didn’t agree with TTO razors. I was wrong. It was all technique.

edited to add, it was all technique relative to the TTO razor. Not general shaving technique. TTOs have different geometry compared to 3 piece designs. Stick with it. Your shaves will improve.

They all shave, just get the blade at the appropriate angle and have at it. I've never noticed a difference between a Tech and a Super Speed.

Lather catcher, injector, OLD type, Micromatic, they're all just handles to hold a blade, it's just shaving, not rocket surgery!

It's not about liking. It "didn't agree" being shaved with them. No matter what setting on the Slim Adjustable, steep or shallow angles used with it or the Flair Tip (silver flare), my critical areas on the neck gave me a heck of a lot more sting (could say burn, but there was no redness) with the AS than after a shave with any other 3 piece, or it wasn't shaved to my liking. I knew it was all about the angle, but also hair growth direction in those areas. Gave them all i could for 3 months, especially to the Adjustable, but no use. 😕

I think I’ve only bought one razor in the last year and a half and that was the Karve that I’d been eyeing for a while. I’m mostly just enjoying what I have.

There's a lot of members of this forum who have reached the same plateau and haven't announced or made any bold claims about their future purchasing, but have simply regressed to lurker status or failed to log in any further. You're not alone OP.

Did I say or even hint I was alone? It was meant as a conversation starter and it seems to have been moderately successful in that respect.

my lusting for razors and soaps has been at an end for a while now. When a select brush appears or I want a commission placed I shall participate. But shaving has became a lot more enjoyable now since I’ve reached my plateau. Sincerest respects as always gentleman. J. 💚🥃
