One of the best, if not the best, built Mercedes, ever, IMO. I had a 230E in that very same colour on a G plate, bought in 1989. Thanks for the memory, Paul.

I was on a vehicle assessment training course and one of the training vehicles was a W140

That was also build like a brick outhouse. The S500 was a giggle to floor (as I wasn't buying the petrol...)

I can imagine, Paul. 1996 saw the beginning of the Mercedes quality decline. Now they're just a mass producer. Sad really.
