Hi new member here

Nearly 75 started DE shaving eight weeks ago. Fed up being ripped off with multi blade razors.
Edwin Jagger DE89LBL razor Edwin Jagger Plaza synthetic silver tip brush. Feather blades.
Really enjoying the experience can now shave every day instead of every other because I have less irritation.
Have been happily using Proraso Red shaving cream no issues. After reading reports thought my next step would be Trumper shaving cream.
Not wanting to spend a lot and find that I didn’t like the smell I bought six sample creams. Pathetic amount of cream in the samples, tried three very little smell and to my mind lather not as good as Proraso. Is there any point spending a lot on a cream or soap.
Had two nicks first week, none since.

Welcome to the forum. From where I sit, there is little point in spending a lot on cream or soap. I have found that, personally, there are plenty of moderately priced creams and soaps that perform excellently and spending more does not necessarily buy you a huge increase in performance.

Hello and welcome

I am not sure where you are in the world but in terms of value then Palmolive Shaving cream for a £2 tube takes a lot of beating, lathers up very well and gives a good shaving experience.

If you really want to cut costs try the Wilkinson shaving bowl, a spoonful of soap scraped from the puck and pressed into an earthenware bowl,
whisked up with a brush will produce a good lather, the spoonful will last a week, the bowl, at under £3, will last a year. Only downside is a strong lemon scent.

This. Same goes for razors and brushes, what you have now is good equipment, the high end stuff is nice to have but won't necessarily shave you any better.

Welcome and i agree with all the gents above, that an economical priced shaving cream like Palmolive or proraso will give you a pleasant and comfortable shave as well you don't need to spend a fortune on it and that goes for razors and brushes as well.
