Greetings From NE Georgia, I have been a wet shaver for almost 6 years now. I started out with a Schick DE safety razor my grandfather gave me and it's been a love ever since. I started out with some Walmart DE blades and caned goo. Hey it's what I had, LOL! I eventually bought the Walmart Vanderhagon shave set with the soap, mug and boar brush. I thought that was the best shaving I ever got. But wait there's more. On April of 2016 I joined The Shave Den and found out so much more about wet shaving and about mapping the grain. I started getting even better shaves. Some one over there PIFed me a couple of brushes and some shave soaps and I learned a whole new meaning of a good shave. I started collecting safety razors both DE and SE and got some new soaps to try, and I was in heaven. I learned about different DE and SE blades and became a Russian DE blade junkie. I Then got introduced to injector razors and fell in love again with SE razors. And then the worst/best thing happened, I found out about "The Dark Side". Yea you know what I'm talking about, Straight Razors! It's been all down hill from then on, it's like starting all over again. Trying to find a razor that I liked and shaved me well, trying to find the edge I liked, the grind and so on and so forth. The search is still on going, but I think I'm getting close. I've got some different soaps, strops, razors. getting pretty good at it too. I'm shaving with both hands and really enjoying my shave time. I set aside at least 30 min. a day for my shave so I can enjoy it. I've got my hones to start learning to hone myself, a Naniwa stone progression. still looking for that edge that I like best be it jnat, or coti, or other. So the search still continues, I've amassed many razors of all kinds, safety, single edge, and straights and to me there is not just one kind that works best. They all have there merits and down falls. I look forward to learning even more from this group that I have just joined. Thanks for having me here!
