Just had my first shave with the Argumes or citrus soap. OK I take it back, it's a really strange one. Had to be complicated didn't it, it's MdC. On opening the jar you are presented with a sweet lemon drop/starburst note, this was an immediate turnoff for me. However, citronella then kicks in married with bergamot. This stops the scent profile from becoming overly sweet for my taste.
On lathering it changes, that initial sweet tone is very short lived. The fragrance is refreshing with lemon being the predominant note. Citronella stays low key in the background and the bergamot and grapefruit allow for a slight warmth and floral tone balancing the sharp sour lemon and pungent spicier citronella. After the shave my nose is picking up lots of sour lemon, (which I love) whilst still providing wafts of a floral citronella. I put on some Floid Vigaroso aftershave, yet the lemon from the soap is still riding above the aftershave. It is so zesty it comes across as a freshly sliced lemon. Yet from the tub it's sweeter. Looking forward to exploring the scent more. Performance is as always, exceptional.
