They didn't shave back then...
That's actually what I believe you enjoy doing here, otherwise you don't say much.Perhaps you have hit on something here...
I really need to give my boars more of a chance, think I’ll get the big Zenith out for tomorrow. I felt exactly the same about badger as you do until I found that I like dense two-band. Somehow boars don’t feel very dense to me though, I’d love one that gave me the “wall of pig” instead of “wall of badger”.Badger just feels numb on my face, too soft and "poofy". Even when there is plenty of backbone the tips just aren't there for me. If you make a synthetic with backbone and scrubby tips you will flick lather all over and not have any splay. So boar is the answer for me, and nobody cages hogs for hair, it's a natural byproduct of the pork industry. If folks want to cancel me for eating pork products and using boar brusher I say more power to them.
Synths are kept in cages for months and beaten daily. This makes the synthetic bristles softer.
Not the same pig used for ham and bacon.I really need to give my boars more of a chance, think I’ll get the big Zenith out for tomorrow. Boar is definitely an easier ethical decision, if a pig's going to die for bacon, sausages and all the other tasty things they give us I have no problem at all with shaving with it’s hair.
I don’t know how you do things in the US but over here it is.Not the same pig used for ham and bacon.
Well, okay. Not much hair on these pigs here, Chris...LOL!!I don’t know how you do things in the US but over here it is.
Gah, I’ve just realised that I totally misunderstood your post to mean that you were saying that ham came from one pig and bacon from another. Oops!Well, okay. Not much hair on these pigs here, Chris...LOL!!
A two band badger is pretty good, but not worth the increased price tag, and still numb. I still have a nice two band, either 26 or 28mm, and I still use it, but it will be my last.I really need to give my boars more of a chance, think I’ll get the big Zenith out for tomorrow. I'm interested in why you value backbone in a brush?Badger just feels numb on my face, too soft and "poofy". Even when there is plenty of backbone the tips just aren't there for me. You seem to say enough for all of us. Sometimes, more than enough! That's actually what I believe you enjoy doing here, otherwise you don't say much.
I begin building lather on the puck and then scrub the soap into my face to make my final lather, and I enjoy the actual scrub. I can't stand a limp paint on shaving brush like a pure badger or a soft synthetic. Just my personal preference. And I get fantastic lather from boar brushes.I'm interested in why you value backbone in a brush?
I just always thought the bristles came from what we call Wild Boar hogs. If I remember correctly, Russian origin.Gah, I’ve just realised that I totally misunderstood your post to mean that you were saying that ham came from one pig and bacon from another. Oops!
Now that I know where you’re coming from I’ve seen different breeds of pigs on British farms and you’re right, some of them really don’t have a lot of hair.
I get tired of hearing your drivel too.You seem to say enough for all of us. Sometimes, more than enough!
Unlike some, I just read until I have something to say. I don't get much of a kick out of hearing myself talk drivel.. I guess that's how we differ...
That's why there is an ignore button. Feel free to use it.I get tired of hearing your drivel too.
