Guide to SE shaving

I know I WILL regret this but..........

Is there a guide somewhere to SE shaving? I have never seen one let alone used one. Many here though swear by them and it appears some highly regarded officinados have gone of over to SE from the DE side.

So guys, what is all the hype about. Advantages, disadvantages etc etc?

The only SE I have used, besides a straight razor, are of the vintage GEM variety. For those you shave with the top cap almost touching your face, something like using an adze. The nicest blades to use are the Personna GEM PTFE coated stainless steel blades. They are sharp, smooth and do not rust. The GEMs will give a straight razor a run for it's money in achieving a close comfortable shave.

Almost forgot about the vintage Schick inject I have. It does not see much if any use as for some reason I just did not take to it.

Studies show 90 % of people who don't get a good shave from a Micromatic aren't doing it right. Don't forget to skin stretch and follow the directions on the box rather than pretending it's a Fatboy. That's it.

Basically, you have Artist Club blades, GEM blades (above) and injector blades, with corresponding razors. Techniquewise, the first and last kinds are used pretty much like DE blades in terms of angle, pressure (or lack thereof) etc. There's also shavettes which take a DE snapped in two, Artist Club blades or plenty of other more or less obscure blades, some of which are intended for trimming hair lines rather than shaving etc.

Or are you actually thinking of straight razor shaving?
