Glycerin in Shave Soap, love, hate or could careless??

I enjoyed using Van Der Hagen with glycerin.

Seriously? Why?

I'd avoid nitroglycerin.

I vaguely recall investigating glycerin soaps many years ago and concluding that it was not a good indicator of soap performance.

i have found Glycerine heavy soaps work well as intended, but i find them all a bit "greasy" feeling in use.

I now just tend to use whatever half decent quality soap ( or shampoo / shower gel ) that is available. I remain convinced that pre-shave prepping of some sort is essential.

COVID is certainly still around and hurting people.
