Get my mojo back

Hi Lads.
I know there are a loads of new members that don't know me and lots of the original members of this forum that do. I need help. I have completely lost my shaving mojo. I've gone from a complete enthusiast to a chore shaver again.
I rarely shave more than one a week. I just reach for the nearest Soap and virtually any blade in my box will give me an acceptable shave, so I do not bother which one I choose. Same for the razor. I used to really enjoy the forum, it's comeraderie and everything about shaving.
How do I get my Mojo back?

I think some of the others are right, the Leaf took any challenge or inspiration out of it for you, made it feel like a uniform part of your week again rather than a hobby. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing for some, but if you’re looking for inspiration again you can probably find it just in incorporating some variety again.

Maybe get a new brush? Maybe try a new soap? Not sure that there will be any new ones to you though.

I've been in a similar situation, but never really had a huge collection. I'm turning to a very functional approach to shaving and kit.

Not easy. Also a problem when you have found the razor and blade combination that works for you to the point where you think why try anything else? You have plenty of brushes/soaps/creams, reaching a plateau is understandable.

I don't know what to suggest my friend. My own addiction to software and brushes keeps me buying and tying which has been the excitement at time rather than any Shaving Mojo per say. Having read your post i'm worried I may also be loosing any real love for shaving and end up hitting a wall of no longer finding true enjoyment. My joy of buying also being my pain of spending more than I really should and having made a couple of stinker blind buys of software that smelt so vile I just binned them, basically from box to bin without even lathering. If you find a way to bring back that passion do say cos i've just realised my joy of shaving is taking a back seat while the addiction is the driver.

For me shaving is like brushing my teeth. It is just something I need to do. Since I have many options, it can make it more interesting.

There is a skill to using either a honed straight or a replaceable blade straight (both are the absolute same). So, this might be of interest.

I have no modern blade holders.

Why are you asking for encouragement when you have been such a downer lately? There is nothing that newcomers to the site can add to your knowledge of razors, blades, soaps or anything else associated with taking whiskers off your face - so it seems that you are just looking for some attention yet again.

For a short time you were enthusiastic about Vintage razors, pick up a nice New Improved just to have a change of pace.
