Forgotten US soap heroes

It’s great to see that Soap Commander survived the massive dent their business took a couple of years ago when one of the partners was imprisoned. I’ve still got a few tubs of their soap left it’s great.

It’s a shame that Strop Shoppe are no longer in business as they made some good soaps.

Two companies that are still around that slip under at lot of peoples radar are WSP and Black Ship. They make brilliant soaps that perform excellently and are often overlooked in favour of newer and trendier brands.

And you have just reminded me that I need to break this one out 👍

I’ve still got a bunch of discontinued unscented soaps stashed away. 1 ea. Tim’s and Strop Shoppe (and four pucks of non-USA AoS and two jars of Valobra).

Although B&M is thankfully still in business, Will has willfully stopped making unscented. I was fortunate to load up on about 8 tubs of the White Label soap. Down to my last three of those. When I find something I like I buy multiples

Barrister's worth getting some scented ones like Grand Chypre & Seville. The first scent is fantastic.

The day he stopped making unscented soap was a frightening one! I went on a hoarding spree. At one time I had ten tubs in reserve. Love Will’s bases! I may try the Grand Chypre in the future as we’re slowly becoming more scent tolerant in chez chazt. May. I was a 90%-of-the-time-unscented shaver for many years and am only now beginning to explore scented soaps and aftershaves. The described scent profile of GC is somewhat intriguing to me. Generally speaking, Will’s scents have been too intense for my nosebrain. Seville was one of many B&M soaps I bought and soon moved on. OTOH, Diamond and Oceana blow my mind! The former takes me back to the baseball games of my youth. Evocatively done. Oceana reminds me of pleasant days vacationing with my wife and family. I’m working through my third tub of each and have am lucky to have one of each in reserve. I’m set, baby!

Queen Charlotte were fantastic. I still have an amazing one left I've got on the cards to start to use.
