Films worth watching

It does seem to be a trend. The dialogue was perfectly audible even with earplugs, which leads me to believe that the entire movie could have been shown at a lower volume without losing anything.

Personally I think that it's down to the fact that gone are the days when people would sit quietly watching a movie or be ejected, they're probably cranking the volume to drown out the people gossiping, eating noisily and posting on Faecesbook because they're not prepared to remove them.
That’s the truth. 😕

I think the last film the wife and I watched in a cinema was Dracula Untold in 2014. Loud people always sit beside us, and every surface is sticky. We’d rather pay for subscriptions and watch in the comfort of our own home.

There is something to be said for small, very small, independent cinemas, ideally members only and over 25s for most films.

A friend went to one recently and they had an evening of I Love Lucy TV shows, and another of an old TV show that you may remember 30 something.

Is there an English version?
I love Das Boot and have only ever found it with subtitles.
Good question and I wish I had a solid answer. My best guess is that it comes with either English subtitles or you have to pay/buy it dubbed into English. From previous experience with other dubbed to English movies the dubbing can be horrible. Let us know how you make out.

I believe the DVD version has the option for English dubbed, and that the main cast could all speak English and dubbed their own voices.
I might see if CEX has a copy, there was an updated TV series but it was not nearly as raw as the original.
