More of a fan of Considine, no idea why, he just has something about him. Tyrannosaur is a classic, thanks for reminding me to watch it again.

Watched The Last Jedi this morning. I really enjoyed it. I found it be spectacular, funny and poignant. I'm not a shamed to say there were tears rolling down my face in one scene.

...did I mention spectacular? Well worth a watch on the big screen.

Have to disagree hugely!
Full of plot holes, funny bits that were frankly awful. A whole middle section that added nothing. Didn’t answer any questions and instead gave us more questions

Was also disappointed with 'The Last Jedi', as was the 14 year old son. 6/10 was the score we both gave it.

BTW. Justice League was dreadful.. a generous 4/10.

I really enjoyed Man Of Steel, I thought they were on to something, but that ar5ehole Affleck is no Batman but if Justice League is worse then they need to kill it now. I think they are just trying to pack ten films worth into one. They've made some rum casting decisions too, which never helps.

The whole DC thing is one poorly planned rush to try and catch up with what Marvel are doing. Man of Steel was decent, as was Wonder Woman, but neither were must see IMO.

BTW. Thor Ragnarok was great fun, really enjoyed it.

Star Wars: loved the originals, didn’t especially like the prequels. This new direction... I’m starting to believe it’s not for me (really disliked the force awakens, thought rouge one was entirely disposable). I felt like the last Jedi was better than anything since the originals - but pretty meh overall. I’m sure fans will love (or at least like) it. As for me, this franchise has lost it’s luster.

Loved the originals (especially since I acquired Harmy's despecialised editions), didn't like the prequels at all, thought that Force Awakens was just a poor re-tread of A New Hope. Rogue One was OK though. I've been disappointed with too many new Star Wars films, I think I'm going to wait until someone buys Last Jedi on DVD/BD and borrow it.

The Handmaiden: "Psychological erotic thriller" according to the blurb and it really is! The film is shown in two parts Part 1 from the Handmaiden's point of view and Part 2 from her Mistress's point of view. Excellent film from the bloke who gave us Oldboy. Thriller, love story and crime caper with a fair chunk of sauciness for good measure 8/10. One I'll watch again.

The Man from Nowhere: Another Korean tour de force, beautifully shot and well judged thriller. The action is visceral and again the cinematography and score lift the whole thing. There are a couple of Far Eastern schmaltz moments thrown in but they don't really detract and Bin Won is excellent as the protagonist going from pretty boy to broken man to lethal weapon without breaking the submersion. One of my favourite films. 8/10
