Clips for what purpose?

To keep the baseplate and top cap tightly together. If you don't use the clips, when keep tightening the head, there will be a distortion because the razor is 3D.

Very solid razor.

But a rather short thread on the cap for the handle and as many have said no lather slots. Most likely to keep costs down (they do take some time to mill).

Now I have a blade fitted, I can see the lip I was so concerned about on the base plate, does not interfere with the blade.

It's no where near it and I apologise to anyone that may have been influenced negatively by my earlier reaction to the base plate.

The razor will be used for the Sunday shave.

The baseplate seems so wide, that I think the cutting angle will be narrow. Just my guess.

Many a good tune played on an old fiddle, I'm not a typical pensioner though, aged 66 I don't take a single prescription tablet, been the same weight 12 stone for 45 years, I'm pretty fit and active so middle age Women are my benchmark.
