Absolutely. When you have sellers like Matt from Griffithshaving there is no need to go looking at razor emporium. Just the difference in the amount and quality of pictures each seller provides.

I’ll give them a look, thank you! I’m not too well versed on all the brands and possible quirks, if any .
I do see a trend, shopping around here in the US. The selection appears to revolve around certain brands, Dovo, Boker, Thiers, Aust and a few others. I could be looking in the wrong places—US based. I’ve hit up Maggards, West Coast Shaving..etc. I’ll keep rooting around.
It’s not a time sensitive buy—DE/SE still works. Budget, haven’t really put a set price to be honest.
Might as well let the whole cat out of the bag as per my current situation. Feel free to correct as needed / steer; not going to hurt my feelers.
The only thing I have, two strops. One practice one and another thats better quality with a linen strop. the practice one has seen some use with pocket knives, no cuts, boogers or anything on it. I need to clean the good one off. Still supple, doesn’t have stuff growing out of it, cracked or otherwise degraded.
No hones, not in the range I need—slew of Arks. Looking to snap up a Naniwa 12K to start things off and go from there.

If you give us your budget, then it will help us point you in the right direction and pick out some razors for you.
The razors you mentioned are currently available brand new as well as used. Although current production razors generally are pretty decent but may still have problem areas. Used razors range from NOS to pug ugly and are likely to be more problematic. NOS razors of the same brand as current production ones may be better than the same brand current production ones. The NOS razor were made at a time when very experienced workers made razors. The same brand current production razors my have been made after the height of razor production with new staff that had to relearn the skills needed. Your best bet is to read up on various issues that can happen with straight razors and how to spot them.

Probably around $4-500 tops. Anything after that, I’ll get the side-eye from the wife.
I found a pretty nice Revisor on their site. Then, I saw the NOS Puma’s... One foot in front of the other as they say.

You could afford most high-end vintage razors for that kind of money, Have you thought about a Japanese Western-style straight they are fantastic razors, you could even afford a custom RigaRazor with your budget.

I have seen them and oogled a few. I honestly don’t know much about them. Most of my reading has gravitated towards EU made SR’s.
That may be very well be up my alley. I’ve been immersed in asian culture since the 90’s, albeit Korean—wife is from there and I lived there for 4 years. Slight difference.

Revisor can be finicky shipping to the US. For some people they ship, others like myself, had to find other ways to get the razors here.
