I appreciate the welcome but I am afraid I would be a source of continuos disappointment. I own but two natural stones, and 95% of the time I only use my Escher. I do love to read about them, but I'd much rather keep the variables in check and get proficient with one stone only.

No disappointments here, Sir... And, knowing one stone inside and out is probably not a bad solution!
If I'm buggering around with a new stone and can't figure out how it works best, or just generally having a honing 'off day': a good Thuri is what I'll always fall back on for pristine and perfect edges every time.
