Emergency Kit for unexpected stay in Hospital

Hope it’s not too serious and your on the mend.

As for a shaving go kit, I’m not that organised! Knowing me I just wouldn’t shave, hospitals not the best of environments.

Not too bad am in a ward for 3.

A problem. I had to fling a few female requisites together for my wife and partner for more than half a century when she was blue lighted to hospital last Wednesday. She died yesterday and today I'm sorting out the things I picked up. Without doubt the very worst day of my life.

There is an old tradition that mourners don't shave, so it's "grow a full set" time for me. Odd how the fun things in life can disappear in a flash.

I was admitted to Hospital from A & E, all in a hurry- hence no Shaving Kit. Son assembled one which was pretty good apart my some bits and bobs.
When I go go home will assemble a slightly better one.
Have you Folk ever been in a similar situation.
Would be good to to hear of any essentials you might put in Grab & Go bag which you have for such emergencies ~ on standby and not being used.
Do not forget a small Travel Mirror.

From my pre-retirement days, I always kept a travel kit ready to go. It contains my SS Blackbird (as I use my Ti Bird almost every day I’m at home), several blade tucks, Soaps pressed into an old TOBS screw top container (currently Tabac), a Muhle STF turnback brush (synths don’t need to be soaked and dry quicker for pack-up day), and an aftershave (currently Speick).

I found my shaving routine to be a brief respite during my wife’s terminal illness and afterwards. She is now gone almost 6 1/2 years and while not a day has gone by that I don’t think of her, the rawness of her death has eased. Time truly has blunted the pain and I hope that you too will find some comfort and relief.

Back from Hospital last night.
Was tidying up when I got home, in a basket I just chuck things. But these Schick Super 2 disposables are very good, work for 6/7

If you are not keen on the idea of disposables, I highly recommend getting the Schick Super 11 & Ultrex blades.These are plentiful in USA, but E Bay won’t ship them, so you need a USA shaving buddy or relation.
