Design 94 Infinity Razor…

First ever purchase from this artisan manufacturer. They do have other razors in their line up but, this one here which is called the Infinity Razor by Design 94 presented in a high polish Titanium alloy razor was the one that called my attention. I don’t know much about their brand and I haven’t really read into much detail what their razors offer in terms of shave performance and overall shave satisfaction. I will say that their presentation is superb (I know, you can’t shave with a box but, it’s a nice touch) and the quality & finish of the high polish Titanium alloy razor is second to none. The razor, stand and a tuck of Timor blades is included for the price of nearly $550US which included a tariff surcharge that I was not expecting to be quite honest. I simply forgot to read the fine print. Minus the surcharge, it would have been significantly under the $500US mark. It is what it is.

Looking forward to giving it a go in the next day or two. Apologies for the crappy pics as I was in the kitchen rushing through some things as I was in the severe need of some nourishment and getting ready to throw some steaks on the Bar-B-Que.

Superb. Simply superb. One and only shave in but, this one is special. I mean like Diamondback, Skyline, ATT Windsor, Timeless .95, Durdan La Faulx & Horizon, Rocnel Sailor & Osprey special. It just feels natural, smooth and exceptionally low key efficient. Blade feel is there but, it's so controlled and managed by the razor design, it's like cheating. Low blade feel but, the whiskers are gone, like with ease. Ease of use, balance and tactile feel is top notch. No knurling however, I never felt that it was slippery in hand with suds and whiskers about. Just an excellent shave performance by the Design 94 Infinity. I'm glazing here on a 1 shave trip but, there is nothing that I can complain about. Blade support was my main concern with the negative blade exposure at -.05 yet with a healthy gap of 1.1 according to the specs on their website. No chatter or skipping on skin (granted, only one days growth) and feel was just silky smooth. No intimidating feel of the razor turning on you if a bad stroke or move is employed. Very forgiving while tenacious on the whiskers. No disturbance on skin both face & neck whatsoever.

More shaves to follow but, this one has that shave magic Gents. Design 94 has something special here.

Yeah, it does kind of take away from the smooth aesthetics & the nice symmetry that the razor has as a whole. However, the shave end of it more than makes up for that cosmetic anomaly.
