I am no expert at such things but if you simply want a self imposed denial of access then would changing your password not work for you, even picking a password with your eyes shut!
Your last posts were in 2022, I am assuming that being away from your account has already been accomplished?

Why not? in this same section, a while ago, a user asked for his account to be delated and that did not seem to be a problem.

Please see rule 7 of the site:
- Leaving - On registering for a user account, you accept information you post publicly will remain in our database and on public record, even if you later decide to leave the site or close your account. If leaving, you may request the removal of personal information linked with your account and specific personal information that you or others may have posted. We will not delete your account or any associated messages.

I think the "Staff Members" could perhaps try to be supportive and helpful rather than just logically point to the rule book and give short replies.
In the absence of that, i would suggest to the member concerned that they delete any revealing profile data and change their user name to "deleted member" or similar which would, effectively, make them anonymous and stop people trying to contact them in future.
