Colonial General V2 Revised

I thought the original General was my best ever. I was reluctant to buy the V2, but out of respect for the original and the guys who made it, I wanted to find out if it really was worthy of the name. After I had used the V2 for about a week or two, I came to realize the changes were for the better and I now consider this my top performer, with the original a strong second. Hats off for Colonial. The original handle has served me well, and honestly like it better than the updated handle design.

I ordered a v2 head today. I cannot wait for it to arrive. The delivery people will be busy this week at my house, lots of new shave gear arriving! Hoping they all arrive while my wife is at work LOL.

The V1 was a cracking razor and I doubt that this razor head has any vast improvement in shaving other than aesthetically. When I think that the complete V1 razor cost $30 less and is the not so measly amount of $115 for the head only! Plus you will have to pay import duty, postage and tariffs.
I think you are comparing brass and stainless steel prices but when you compare v1 SS vs v2 SS the difference is not so much.

I do like the look of the v2 head .... maybe for Xmas :)

Thanks, well they are out of stock for now anyway. Maybe I will try the SE2 next. Already have brass General, SE1 and X1 in rotation.

That's a good selection. Obviously the following is entirely subjective but I'd say the V2 is around the same level as the X1. Smoother than the SE1. Logically you have no need for a V2 if you've got an X1 and V1 but logic has no place here.
