Cobra classic

Hi team,

I am really looking forward to the blackland vector. I will buy it.

I absolutely love my cobra classic. I am just tentative using the cobra as I will not be able to replace it. If I drop it for example.

I think the the cobra may be my favourite razor. For a daily shaver it’s a bit impractical due to the aggressive nature of the razor and very hazardous blade loading.

I was thinking of trying to find out who owns the intellectual property of cobra classic design. They don’t seem made anymore and it’s a crying shame.

I would love a “replica” available in a high quality metal like a blackland and made with tight quality control.

Bonkers or beautiful? I would really love to get this off the ground. Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers

Greg

I assume Classic Shaving has IP claims to both Cobras, or at the very least be the ones to contact to inquire. I doubt they'll allow for a replica. Not sure why they keep production down, but they did produce some before the summer.

Incidentally, on the topic, though not an awfully enlightening read: https://sharpologist.com/2018/10/copies-clones-conterfeits-wet-shaving-world.html
I guess I had assumed that there were issues with production of the cobra which don’t affect timeless for example. I will write to them and ask politely whether they’re intentionally keeping production volumes so low or would consider an “alternative” option, whatever that might be.

I'd love one if it could be made well. I've never took the risk of buying incase I got a bad one... Sending it back to the US, especially with their renowned terrible customer service, just doesn't appeal.

I tried one once and loved it, but no one likes wasting heir money if it's a dud.

Yeah. This is the conundrum I would love to solve. Best razor design ever in my humble opinion; killer looks and lethal bbs shaver. But wait......

I would (as a massive wet shaving enthusiast) love to solve this situation. It would be so awesome to have a titanium cobra made by blackland or timeless or another high quality machinist with referenced and loyal customers to support getting the cobra dancing from the basket.

Pretty razor, but the shave is not all that great IMO. The General knocks spots off it. Heck even the £30 Hawk delivers a better shave.
It's nice looking though....

I sold my King Cobra and kept the Classic.

Maybe the guy that made the "bunny" SE would be interested in trying to make an AC razor?

I love how you always seem to put shaving in a whole other domain. “Juices flowing”, “nipples erect”, “fannies and trannies”.

(Oh, ok, I added that last bit, but it needed some punch.)
I like to know at 9am 100+ hairy men are thinking of my erect nipples

I have still the original Cobra and use it occasionally, it doesn't give the best shaves but sure is pretty

Btw if you ever get water spots, just use some 1 or 0.5 micron diamond emulsion and polish them off.

If it wasnt for the water spots I would have sold mine in a moment of weakness. I’m thankful now that the deal fell through and I found the spots could be polished out....

Thought I’d resurrect this thread about the Cobra Classic.
I’ve been using mine for the last six shaves with a Feather Pro and while I get good shaves I don’t get great shaves and I personally think the Vector and Hawk are better. I know at least @koenfucius doesn’t agree 😁 and I wonder if that down to personal preference or manufacturing tolerances of the not very well made Cobra. I find my Cobra a touch too mild and like the Hawk V3 Open Comb.
