Chinese Feather clones

slapo

It's... alive!
I had been wondering when clones such as these would come about. Surely Feather's and Kai's research has paid for itself by now and patents have likely expired, too.

I'm more curious about the blades than the razors, but I haven't had one of the AC style shavettes or kamisoris yet...

It looks like there are 2 types of blade available. Some "white box" blades with the non-folding razor and some "Xuemary" blades with the folding razor. It doesn't look like you can order the Xuemary blades separately. They are VERY good too, at least in my inexperienced "straight" hands. I need to try one in my General.

I have messaged the seller to see if I can buy the blades separately.

The original price of the DX and RG were extortionate especially from Western dealers. Last year the prices on eBay were so low that I ordered a DX, SS and a Captain. That was the cost of an DX previously or current Excellia.

So bargain is king but If I had made the effort to design and market a product and a copy/knockoff/clone/replica/counterfeit version showed up and profited on my work I would not be happy at all.
Some of the razor styles patents have expired long ago like most gillette de razor patents so everyone can basically make exact copies minus logos of course or company names which remain trademarked....

Capitalism requires no moral justification last I checked. Razor manufacturers have lifted designs since the beginning of razors, it's not something the Chinese invented. Did Feather pay Gillette for the Tech design when they marketed their DE AS-D2? Don't think so.
