I don’t think that's a Gillette razor, there are no markings on the bottom plate and the afore mentioned seems like it's a stamped piece...

I concur, looks like a copy of an Old Type.

This is a German travel razor made in Solingen, most likely by the company Aequator Solingen . The "A Safety Razor Compendium" includes this information " Aequator Rob. Hömanne Söhne, Germany. On 1922 trade name list. Copy of Gillette double ring style; silver plated. ".

Not a Gillette, thin stamped sheet metal baseplate. Low cost OLD type knock off.

There were many OLD type knock offs in the thirties and forties, US, Germany, England, Argentina, France, and others, some nice, some not so much.

That one actually looks a lot nicer than the one above.

The top one is cheaper and made in the same style. In any case, I'm 99.9% sure it's a German razor.

My mind is blown i have no clue how you tracked it down. This razor is has a very unique shaving feel. I need to figure out how to get it back to like new condition.

There's definitely a difference between them. The concept and some engineering decisions are more important here. I'm sure this is a German shaving school. The top one looks very much like a simplified copy. In fact, many manufacturers in Germany didn't label their razors at all.
