Little tip which was passed onto me recently for anyone with boar brushes eating lather... Soak it for no more than 30 seconds before use. It's transformed all my lather eaters into lather monsters, no idea why this isn't more widely known but if a boar is eating lather it's almost certainly been over soaked. My brush is still a young pup at the moment and doesn't get much use and I do dry on a towel but with extreme vigour!
I discovered this conical aspect of the Semogue knots a few years ago when I had a 2000. I really liked the handle but not the knot as it was too greedy (now of course I know that I was being overly frugal with the soap) and I gave it a haircut. I like the metal collar so I removed the remaining bristles only to discover that there was no way I could use it with the conical collar. Bin got fed.
