The new open comb looks great. Baseplate only is $90 (which is all I need) but for just $40 more you get the complete razor. What to do?

The new bronze Open Comb looks fantastic - no question about it - and, it's fantastic value.

For me though, I still have this nagging doubt in my mind (based on previous experience of this metal) that it'll start to look like fecking poop after a few day's use...

Any Bronze SB long termers got any photos of the developing patina - hopefully to dispel my fears?

Looks pretty good although I’m not sure about the boxy baseplate. The base plate looks kinda chunky and I wish the corners were rounded a bit more. Still probably pick one up at some point.

i also have the bronze . no patina so far. but i have to say that the baseplate is shorter than on mi timeless ti. so the bronze is pretty direct or more aggressiv for my feeling

Only my first use of the Bronze OC, this morning, but a very nice shave, indeed. I would say that this razor is a tad more efficient than even the SS 0.95 OC, but very slightly less smooth. The teeth have a very slight presence against the skin, unlike the SS, but never uncomfortable or concerning.
Tomorrow, I intend to use both razors, one for each side of my face and have an even better understanding of their comparative performance.
