I think I’m leaning toward the DS knot but does anyone have experience of either or even a better knot? Cheers.

I can vouch for the 26mm DSC plisoft. I bought one of their brushes and they are awesome. Usable right away, no stink and great performance. Boti does great products too but I haven't tried one of their boar knots.

Master Paul, there are so many great options for boars from Omega, Semogue or Zenith.

Why bother with Chinese? I only buy synthetics from them.

I agree with the consensus. Zenith are excellent unbleached knots. I‘ve also enjoyed Omega boar knots. While I like them both, they do feel “different” from one another; as though the Zenith bristles are a wee bit thinner.

Bob Quinn at Elite razor dot com sells bleached 28mm boar knots. They are excellent and very inexpensive. It may not be worth the shipping cost to you.

I've yet to try DSC boar but Boti was really good.
Their unbleached boar knot was great, but i screwed up and set it too low.
The knot was denser than i anticipated and the low loft meant too much backbone.
I gave it to a friend who absolutely loves it!

Many of my online shaving friends have and love the Boti white boar. It's a very popular boar knot.
Perhaps you could get one unbleached and one white boar.

How big was the glue bump in WIDTH? I’ve often found synthetic knots to be much wider just above the plastic base disc than their stated size meaning they don’t fit the bore hole in the handle. The Boti knots come in 1mm increments so I’m wondering what size to order. What’s been your experience?

I ordered a 26mm knot and it fit a 27mm handle, so it was quite an accurate measurement from Boti.

Also, i would suggest you measure your handle bore and get a knot 2mm smaller than that so that the knot can flare out properly. If the handle is 29mm, I'd suggest a 27mm knot.
