Best Hangover cures...

Okay, we have all been there...too much boozing it up the night before (...just one more bartender). And of course we pay a heavy price the next morning. What is your best hangover food? For me the only food cure for a hangover was a big plate of bacon and eggs and toast and coffee. I think it helped to cleanse the liver. How about you?

I don't drink much anymore either. My best solution was to start drinking only really expensive spirits. Cheap booze = hangovers. It is, however, one of those questions that usually provides some entertaining answers.

Also not a big drinker, I haven't had a drink since December 2019, but the present Mrs Vac celebrated a little too hard one evening and was really suffering the next day.

We went to a fish and chip shop in Holmfirth where they cook in beef dripping, within minutes she was back to her usual self (and giving me grief).

Water.

More water.

Back in the day, I always managed to mantain enough sense to realize things were headed for an awful morning, so I'd quit boozing and start drinking pints of water.

My mates would be looking at me as if I were a pink unicorn, but I used to feel rather smug knowing I'd feel like a normal human being the day after.

Alcohol dehydrates you, so before I go to bed I down a pint or two of water and a couple of aspirin. I rarely have more than three drinks in an evening and this seems to help. Some of my friends tell me that a good old fry-up in the morning puts them back together, but I haven’t tried this.

Plenty of water before bed ( If your in a conscious state to remember that is) and asprin or paracetamol in the morning followed by more water to rehydrate. If that fails Hair of the dog 😄

enough water during drinking (and after). Sugar needs replenishing too, gets broken down when breaking down alcohol, so get applejuice. Fatty food, doesn't matter what type.
Obviously, anything cure depending on ingesting stuff only works when the hangover isn't such that everything you try to get down is immediately being thrown out again three times over. Haven't been there for a long long time, have no inclination of visiting those days either.

I just sit on the sofa and suffer. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
Of course the worst feeling is not remembering if you made a total and utter prat of yourself or not and that guilt is worse than any headache. Most of the time when I get into trouble on here it is due to alcohol and a twisted sarcastic sense of humour.
