Best DE blades

Well, if you're waiting for that Holy Grail blade, count on one thing happening: You will find your Holy Grail blade and soon thereafter it will be discontinued. Happens to me with everything. Mitchell's Wool Fat. Haslinger Schafmilch (tallow version). Polsilver Super Iridium. And others. It never fails. As soon as I get used to something and think my search is over, BOOM, it's discontinued.

Ye I had that when i wanted to buy some more Polsilvers. That is why I stocked up o Nacets because these seem to work very well for me.

not sure if the current version is even made in sint petersburg

i have only used one of them so far, but am very impressed with the BIC Platinum blades i bought in the Amazon Spring Sale.

Very sharp and long lasting - got 4 good shaves out of one blade and the 5th shave was ok, but you could feel its past its peak.

My preparation and process seem to have more to do with shave comfort and perceived longevity. I usually discard blades after two or three shaves anyway.

Really no strategy on my part though. The first razor that I liked was a Muhle R89, so I bought a few hundred Muhle blades. Then I read on forums that nobody disliked Feather, so I went overboard buying those. I don’t have much experience but I’m happy where I landed.

I definitely dislike the damn 🪶

I tried about two dozen blades (maybe more), and the best ones for me were Personna Med Prep ( Lab Blue) and Gillette Silver Blue.

A year on from my original post and I've used probably about a dozen of the BIC and find them a very sharp and smooth blade.

Have also used many Chinese King C Gillette blades amongst others and rate them highly too for sharpness and smoothness.

Still in top spot, for me, are my PPI Astra SP. Not the sharpest or smoothest blade ever made, but always a close and comfortable shave
