In order of preference...

Perma-Sharp
Gillette Nacet
Feather
Astra SP

I also really like Lord Platinums for my Leaf for head shaves.

My go to blade for years has been Astra SP.

I'm currently doing a blind test of the following blades, loading my razor with my eyes closed, 5 shaves with each, rating each for comfort and perceived sharpness. I won't know which is which until after day 5. Quite exciting. I'm still on day 2, blade 1...

Astra SP
Feather
Gillette silver blue
Nacet
Permasharp
7oC yellow
Persona med preps

All on a WR2 1.05 gap, one day of growth except for day five which will be 1.5 days (I skip Friday night and shave on Saturday morning)

Astra SP for me. Sharp enough to give a good shave, but smooth and forgiving enough to use every day if needed.

Bargain price too !!! Love Them.

Had my first DE Shave today in 3+ years. Had on board a Personna S/S comfort coated- Lab Blue my favourite blade. Have been using Vintage/ Modern SE , but surprised at how well the Shave went and the quality of finish attained, and no weepers !!

My top three are...

Personna Platinum
Polsilver SI
Dorco Titan

Historically I would have always put Polsilver as my number 1. However, over the last year I have found the Personna to be smooth as a smooth thing. Now my go to blade.

Here is something to think about.
Suneko "Amorphous Diamond Super Stainless New Platinum"
China

I have 20 shaves on one blade, so far, and it is still shaving smoothly.
Over 35 shaves on the same blade. Still going strong, and still testing it. It has decreased in sharpness, but not enough to dispose of it, yet.

Postage and tax on these to Australia cost more than the blades, much as I would like to try. Perhaps they will make their way through ebay one of these days.

Shave#40

I just hit 40 shaves with this same blade. It has decreased substantially, since new. I had to move the Gillette Fatboy from 5 to 4, and do some blade buffering. still no tugging, but the shaves require some touch ups around the chin. I feel there isn't much more left in this one. But, as long as it doesn't tug, is comfortable, with no after shave irritation, the testing will continue. BTW, without proper technique and pre-shave prep, and post shave blade prep, there is no chance at making a blade last this long.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your prep before a shave, and blade care post-shave?

No prob!em.
Preshave:
Warm shower, and soap the whiskers, to remove any oils that impede any water absorption.
Hot steamy towels, while sink is filling up.
Nice slick lather,with face lathering.
Low angle shave, with light pressure. WTG then ATG.

Post shave:
Rinse head of razor under very hot running faucet. Then, blow any residual water out of the blade head. This all keeps excess water from resting on the edge, potentially causing any corrosion. The hot water will heat the head of the razor helping evaporate some water too.
BTW, some people like to wipe the blade off, after a shave. I'm in the thought of less handling the better.

Easy.
