before I do this for the first time I'm going through my notes.
installing a wedge into a new set of scales

take your wedge material, attach the blade with a markup screw or just put a piece of rod through it. measure the wedge in thickness so that it holds the scales apart enough for the blade to rest where you want it. measure the length.

make your wedge and put the thinnest end towards the end of the scales.

that is useful. where do you get that scraper I've never seen anything like that anywhere. I kind of thumb through it pretty fast because I will never use horn. they don't let me ride Buffalo's in the nursing home anymore LOL

I'm also in the nursing home so using any of that equipment probably not going to happen lol I use a coping saw LOL. but I learned many things that I didn't even think about but I noticed them when I see them. tapering the end with the pivot I never even thought about trying to touch that area but the wedge end I'm seeing different possibilities.

I'm still looking for a good video or something on wedges, everything I have tried has something that I didn't anticipate so I'm just looking for something start to finish. here is a piece of acrylic and turn it into a wedge put it in the scales LOL thank you for replying as always
