Barber Shop Shave in central London

I have a function to attend in central London, early May. Looking at the tinterweb I see a number of high end barbers that provide this service with no apparent distinction between them on price or experience.
Does anyone have a particular recommendation for a barbers to use for a shave only?
I know who is best in the Exeter area but have no recent experience of central London to help me decide.
Many thanks in anticipation of people advising of their recommendations

When we visit London I always go to Murdock in Covent gardens, customer care from start to finish, for me, was exemplary!
I also use all their shaving related products both at home and when I’m away working on the ship, a little goes along way!

Another here for Murdock also a regular at the Covent Garden branch, ask for Matt, brilliant service and shave. They often throw in a few samples after that shave which is a nice touch.

I tried to book online, but there is no "Matt" on the menu?
However thanks for the heads up, is there anyone else you remember as being good?

To be honest I have only been shaved by Matthew/ Matt (approx 6 times) I wouldn't worry though, they all know what they are doing
