Evening gents,

It's that time of year where the days get shorter and it also gets a lot colder.

I was just wondering, does anyone get out any specific gear for the Autumn and winter?

I usually switch my soaps to a more woody/smokey scent rather than light and fresh ones I enjoy in the summer.

I also follow up with a balm rather than a splash. I use whatever I have to hand on that front.

What do you do?

Yep, I've been hankering for the warming scent of a richer bay rum than my usual Benjamin's so bought a bottle of Layrite No.9 which is the closest to Steve's legendary Barbershop Bay Rum. I also got a bottle of what used to be my favourite cologne, TOBS Mr Taylor's but it smells different and I'm not impressed. Poo....

I don't change my soap/cream/aftershave/razor rotations at all throughout the year. I think most of my choices are OK for any weather, but maybe I'm just being lazy. The only change I make with the seasons is to use a bowl of some type (Helen Chen suribachi or élan bowl), instead of my usual scuttle with heated water, on the hottest days of summer.

I've got a SW scuttle but I didnt use it last winter. Think I'll give it ago at the weekend though.

I do exactly the same @Dipesh . Currently 6 drawers of soap, 3 for spring and summer. 3 for autumn and winter. Autumn/Winter soaps include:
Tabac
B&M Beaudelaire
Razor master Ari
CRSW Sandalwood
Stirling SDM
CB LPV
Reef Point Fougere Santal
Prof Blightys Viking
PAA Chocolate bourbon
icolonialli
Grandstaff Vetiver
Murdock
D. R. Harris Marlborough
P&B Obsidian

Balms over splashes but heavy oily EDT is my preference.

I don't change a great deal in fact nothing in terms of soaps - whatever takes my eye on the day. If the weather is a bit raw I will sometimes use a thicker and oilier balm such as Village Barber. Not strictly shaving but there is one EdeP that I use only during the depth of winter - Beaufort 1805 which tries to conjure up the Battle of Trafalgar with 'smoke, gunpowder, blood and brandy'. It really would not work as a summer scent - people tend to rebound initially as if I've been standing too close to the bonfire.

Sounds like something up my alley, will give it a try if possible to acquire over here.

I change a picture on the bathroom wall from a bicycle poster to a bear in the snow (gift from neighbor). Small but growing shave den (from reading forums) - no conscious changes last winter.
