Manchurian Badger hair is made of the same stuff as Unicorn mane.

I think it’s simpler than that. “Manchurian” type hair exists in the Simpsons catalogue in exactly the same way as “Unique” hair exists in the Shavemac catalogue. The difference is that other manufacturers have not jumped on that bandwagon. Simpsons have given Manchurian hair credibility because they named it after a region in China. If they had called it “Colin” no one would have copied it.
