You don't need to spend £200 on a straight @jphelan81 until you are really proficient. You can buy a useable SR from Ebay and send it to a forum member for honing. It'll be as good as any £200 and stropping isn't as easy as many will make out at first and you run the risk of rolling the edge making it unusable really easily and needing a touch up. I know because it happened to me. Have a look for a Sheffield razor on the Bay, you are bound to find something decent for not a lot to try with.

Sound advice there Wayne. Largest difference £200 will buy you is admiration and compliments from strangers on forums, the actual shave will be the same... or potentially worse if you get something unsuitable for a beginner.

£50 on a shave ready Sheffield or Solingen, a decent budget strop and see how you like it. If you take to it then around 2 months of regular shaves will see you become moderately proficient and you can begin exploring different blade widths and grinds.

Did you ever try the RazoRock Eco Wayne? Similar thing that uses half DE blades, looks like Shavingstation have them available.

I went to Ampulla for the 200ml Edge black plastic jar with lid and the stickers will be printed via Ebay. Lot's of sellers on there will make stickers to your own design, they will do a sheet of vinyl round stickers for around £5.00. You just email them your design. TBH I have bought from Ampulla before and did get the perfect tubs just like Wickhams use but forgot what size and style they were so I'm hoping these are the same one's. I won't know until they arrive.

The Edge pot is the one I will be buying but probably in white. It's new ro me that you can get your stickers printed via ebay ... I will investigate. :thumbsup:

You'll have to give us some pictures when they are done!

@Randomangle, my tubs turned up today and they are useable but not the tubs I wanted so don't order these particular ones, hopefully you haven't yet? They are a little deeper than needed and not as wide so loading will not be as pleasent as it should be. Just giving you the heads up, more research needed on Ampulla because I do know they sell the ones I'm after.
