I like amber ... and balsam.
I've got balsamic scents that range from cough sweets (al Haramain's Hajre Aswad or little.gifts African Black Gold) through so quite sour medicinal (like al Rehab's Mohkallat Dubai). I often use black musk to further darken such scents. One of my favourite pre-blends is called
K2, which is pretty much that: black musk and amber. I've no idea who blended it, but al Munawwara do/did once called
Musk Himalaya which is very similar also a little more rounded and spritzy with vetiver in the mix. As blends with black musk, it might be a little lighter for folks who find straight-up black musk just too much.
I also like the darker flowers, so rose, lily and jasmine. I have pure attars of these, as in oil extracted from these flowers traditionally. I also have a lot of blends with those in. I'll top off other blends with these. I have a Janatal Firdous ("garden of heaven") blend from Surrati heavy on the lily, which is not a million miles off Ralph Lauren Polo and
Fakat Lil Rijal (literally, "for men") from al Haramain heavy on the jasmine, less so on the lily and that's not a million miles away from GFT Eucris.
At the posh end, Ajmal's Black Musk is something (something something?) else ... you don't need a lot before it's overpowering and it lasts days, so stays with you as a base for literally all manner of other things. Apply on a Saturday morning and you can happily still smell it under a spritz of something meaty like Puig Quorum on a Thursday! I also very much like Ajmal's
Arabian Musk which is lighter, still musky but not overly so and very full of lots of things going on in the middle. Complex!
If you like the ambers
@Grarea Fragrance of Arabia do/did one called
Amber Absolou, which is amber and spice - cinnamon and clove going off in that one. The are some florals, but it's amber and spice. Also, Paradise Perfume & Gems (PPG) do/did a
Darbar (not all Darbars are the same, just as not all Majmoua are the same) which is sublime! Officially, "floral notes of Indian rose & Himalayan pine with a heart note built around hyacinth, pepper & cumin while the base culminates into strong oriental lingering fragrance of cedarwood, agarwood & patchouli". You mentioned pine! Otherwise, one which I had to let go because it was just too much (even for me) was Swiss Arabian/Givaudan Jannet el
Naeem which was very piney and very soapy ... and massively balsamic, in a medicinal way! It put Pino Silvestre to shame! al Haramain's Naeem is nothing like it, if you were curious.
On
Majmoua, do try some as it's such a weird scent to western noses, and quite literally something completely new to smell. If you've every had Paan Liquere, it's not a million miles off ... with baked earth and fresh, minty patchouli in there.
Do check out an artisinal blender who sells as abu_al_hifs ...

Real fusion stuff going on here - very modern.
It's worth knowing that most black musks are in no way from animal products and more likely a blend of synthetics centered around tonka bean, quite popular in a lot of modern frags. Tonka is deep, sumptuous and chewy just as you've described.
