Guys,

Reading this thread and I already want a La Faulx razor :)

My story:

Sensitive skin

My beard doesn’t grow too fast, so I usually don’t need ultra efficiency in razors if I want to shave daily. I always shave in 2 passes, WTG and ATG.

Actually, my favorite DE are Blackbird Ti Lite (love the Standard too, but it’s too much for daily shaves), Athena, The Guido…

I placed an order for an Alpha Spirit SS some days ago. I had a Vector Ti in the past but it was a bit rough and too much for me if shaving daily.

I want to love the AC razors again, I feel my sensitive skin can benefit from the blade rigidity.

Taking all into consideration, what LF plate you recommend?

Thanks in advance

i think the + plate will work great for you.
you can also change how aggresive it is with the blade you use. Kai Captain MG is where i started and it feels like shaving with a kids play razor as far as aggresivmess. Magically though it leaves you dolphin smooth after a couple passes.

I would agree that the plus plate will be the one you want. I prefer the ++ plate, not a lot of difference between the 2 but I don’t shave daily. From what you’ve said I’d get the plus plate. La Faulx is the best SE ever mate in my opinion.
Appreciate your responses! Really helpful. I was thinking about the Classic or +.

A good start on a Lovely Sunday morning. The “+” plate with a Feather Pro is my preferred set up on this razor. Tackles daily shaves with supreme ease while being uber docile on the skin. It will take on multiple days growth with relative ease as well for me as I don’t have a super dense or coarse hair growth. However, it grows back rather quickly into thin and wiry lengths and have used it with 3-4 days worth of stubble. it will tackle those multiple days but, requires just a bit more work to get the job done, mostly an extra buffing pass. I do have the “++” plate and that plate does significantly up the cutting ability without sacrificing the smoothness and docile nature of the La Faulx. I do at times throw in a Feather Pro Super from time to time when I want a no holds barred finish in either “+” or “++” plates with excellent results as well. Ups the aggression slightly with noticeable blade feel but, is still easy to use with just a heightened act of knowing it will leave a mark or draw the red liquid if one becomes lax during the shave. Not at all intimidating by any stretch but, it lets you know exactly what it’s doing and rewards with superb results every single time. In fact and in my experience, the Feather Pro Super in the classic plate is a wonderful combination of smooth, docile, ease of use and daily near mindless shaves that performs second to none if comfort is the priority in the shave.

In the end, Atelier Durdan has created a masterpiece in shave art, form & function. If one is to have one SE to be the ONE & ONLY AC format razor in their collection and/or arguably their best razor period regardless of blade format, I would wholeheartedly advise one to save up and simply acquire the La Faulx without an ounce of hesitation. Perfection is a tough word to yield in the wet shave universe as shaving is completely subjective from one person to another however, I can say with conviction & certainty that the La Faulx in my hands is the closest PERFECT razor that I have experienced in the wet shave hobby.

Man, you’re not helping me to save money 😁

I think I will buy one for sure. The only negative thing I read is about shaving under the nose. I read is a bit difficult with it.
