It's been a few years since I tried the original Muhle R41, and I hated it. Far too aggrerssive, so I thought I'd give the updated model a try. A bit late, I know.

If you just ride the top cap you won't have a major problem with the R41 it won't be too aggressive and just used the Astra Superior Platinum, trust me you won't be sorryIt's been a few years since I tried the original Muhle R41, and I hated it. EKS (Ewald Kron Solingen) is by far my favorite Solingen maker, I guess because Mr. Kron hasn’t been in business for very long (around 5 years in 1920’s maybe), but during this time managed to produce some lovely pieces and even export overseas. Each one ground to perfection, these are singing extra hollow. I am always on the lookout for these, and very happy to have acquired three more, around 7/8” each.

Just remember to shave in short stroke and may take a little while getting used to the R41, and the more you know how to drive it when shaving the top cap and you'll be master R41 shaver.
