Ali Express shave brushes

Question on these.
Are they any use? Had a quick gander last night before going to bed and they are very cheap for badger hair brushes.
As most badger hair brushes I've seen wouldn't be the cheapest option, I wondered if they were actually of any use.
I have boar and synthetic brushes already but was curious to try a badger one next.

Stick with a known brand such as Yaqi or Frank Shaving and you will be fine. The hair is the exact same as used by western brush manufacturers, perhaps not always sorted to quite the same degree and perhaps the knot shapes arent always as perfectly formed as a Shavemac, Plisson or M&F but they are drastically cheaper and do a perfectly good job.

IMO if you want to experience a badger at its best go for a decent badger and appreciate the finer aspects. The cheaper options are good value for money but IMO fall short of a true top badger brush experience. Again YMMV as the cheaper options have large variances. However, I would urge your decision on badger brushes not to be limited to cheaper options.

Totally get where your coming from. Take razors and soaps as an example, it doesn't stop at one. But like with the above, once you get a good product it slows down the acquisition disorder. So it's good to experience different makes and badger brushes before making any firm conclusions.

Nishy talks sense here.... I ruled out badger based on some cheap, and poor chinese badger brushes. If you get a bad one you'll get a bad impression. Try an MS off eBay , approx £40, but you'll get a much better feel for a decent badger.
Or you may even get a good deal on the BST..

I started out with inexpensive Chinese badger brushes before trying some more expensive western offerings... The Chinese Maseto's were better than any Simpson or Thater brush I've had since.

Everyone makes very valid points and from where I sit I choose not to use Badgers due to maintenance as i'm lazy lol. But the main points are not chinese or western per say but who makes the knots

I purchased an Aluminium Handled Badger from them, the one that sits nicely with the Futur copy. On closer examination though it’s clearly a synthetic. Not worth the hassle to complain.

If its from yaqi grace is very good and help resolve the issue. Drop her a message rather than raising a case in the first instance

I went for a Frank Shaving one, was only €20 ish I think so not mad expensive, and if I like them I can always go for a more expensive one after.
I'm in the "I want to try it all" phase of wet shaving
